Destination reached - Tims Thicket

It was great to get away with friends after three weeks overseas training. Thanks to all the above members and visitors for helping making this 4wd trip a very relaxing one.

Unfortunately for the fisherman amongst us, no real fish caught to write home to Mum about but it wasn't from the lack of trying... we needed Rocky with us for a bit of guidance, maybe next time Rocky?

Pluto with his new toy out a couple of times and getting use to the open water kayak.

A great run up the beach with Bullet seeing a Sea Lion sun baking on the edge of the water with everyone stopping to take a closer look. Other wildlife spotted was a lone Emu just behind the dunes and a dingo foraging for a dead something on the beach. A dead Wobbegong spotted on the beach missing a head, bit on the nose as well.

Wayne peeling off at Preston Beach with vehicle issues and Kim with his brand knew Nissan Navarra 2.5L intercooler turbo diesel getting use to the new vehicles capability and refreshing some old skills behind the wheel, even Sue taking a stint behind the wheel of the new Navarra for a stretch up the beach.

Accommodation at the Indian Ocean Retreat was just fantastic with the best part only taking about 15 - 20 minutes to pack the trucks up and get out of there this morning.

It was a very relaxing, chilled out weekend - just what Sofia and I needed after a big week... and again thanks to everyone for taking part, the company was nothing short of extraordinary.

Our visitors, the Slates getting to know even more members now on their 2nd 4wd trip with West Coast... hoping Anne and Dave enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. And Wayne, Wizards brother on his first 4wd trip with us.... trusting the Sorrento is ok mate ;-)

Thanks Cookie for going tail end for me today, no one got lost and everyone kept together just beautifully too! Thanks Bronky & Wizard for being tail end on Saturday afternoon for me too. This club has some great depth in knowledge, skills and abilities within its membership now as everyone helps out when help is needed and it just makes the whole experience of heading off the beaten track so, so much more enjoyable, thanks to all the T/Ms as well, just fantastic ;-)

See you on the next one, hopefully sooner than later ;-) Take care and stay safe everyone and enjoy the photo's!
